As the Spring Term draws to a close, I’m sure you’ll all join me in saying a huge thank you – diolch yn fawr iawn – to Miss Griffiths who will be leaving us today after spending 2 terms with Year 5. We are extremely grateful to Miss Griffiths and would like to wish her the best of luck in her new adventures. 

We will be welcoming Mrs Wilmore back after Easter – she is looking forward to sharing her newly found Welsh skills in Dosbarth Alun and across the school. 

Have a lovely Easter Holiday everyone and thank you all for your continued support this term. 

Please remember that Monday 13^th April 2026 is a staff training day and school will be closed to all children. 

School reopens on Tuesday 14^th April 2026 

We have had a lovely few weeks filled with dragons, creativeness and fun. The children have worked really hard making catapults to defend our castles during our theme lessons and have been developing our time skills in maths. We have also made the most of the beautiful sunshine.

Dear Parents,

As the Early Years children will be having a special fun day tomorrow, some children have asked can they come to school dressed up – well yes, absolutely of course they can! 

Please don’t rush out to buy anything special! The children can wear anything they like, to turn them into knights/princesses/kings/queens/maids…. whatever they’re comfortable with! 

Fancy dress or normal clothes are both fine – we’ll make sure that the craft area is well stocked so that they can create things to decorate themselves! 

Please see the attached which we have been asked to share. Please note that this is not a school event. 

Dear Parents/Carers,

Given the high winds forecasted for the remainder of the day and tomorrow, we are postponing the Early Years Castle trip until after Easter. I realise that this will be disappointing for the children, however, we must prioritise safety.

The children will have a fun day in school instead – staff are planning lots of knight/princess/dragon activities for them to enjoy. 

Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause. 

A huge thanks to everyone who supported our Bingo Event at the Welfare last night. We managed to raise a whopping £866 for School Funds which is absolutely incredible!

Our School Fund helps to pay for activities, equipment and events throughout the year that enhance the learning experiences of all the children, so your support is very much appreciated. 

In addition, I would like to pass my sincerest thanks to Mr Davies and Mecca for organising the event; Mrs Jones, Mrs Rogers and Mrs Cawthorne for helping on the night and of course, to staff at the Welfare for hosting.

Dear Parents/Carers,

Apologies for the late notice. 

Chirk Castle have just (within the last hour) contacted school to share that due to the high winds forecasted for tomorrow they will be closing the castle & grounds. Therefore,  the trip for Years 1 & 2 will be postponed until after the Easter holidays.

I realise that the children will be disappointed by this news, however, we must always prioritise their safety. 

Once we have a new date confirmed, I will share this with parents/carers.

I would be grateful if you could share this update with parents/carers who don’t have the school app or are unlikely to check the website.

The children are expected to be in school tomorrow – we’ll make sure that they have a fun day instead! 

As the weather isn’t looking great for tomorrow, can you please ensure all children from Year 1&2 have a coat and sensible shoes for walking around. Also, please can they bring a backpack to carry their packed lunch.
