Year 3 & 4: Idwal

This week the children in Idwal class worked with the Year 6 children from dosbarth Eryri. They worked collaboratively on using Adobe express to create Victorian style newspaper adverts to advertise Dr Barnardo’s shelters.

Introducing Llay’s very own “Sponge Bros!”

A group of talented boys from Years 5 & 6 who have recently started their own car washing business in the village!

Their dedication and determination to succeed is simply brilliant. These are the future entrepreneurs who are definitely not afraid to get their hands dirty!

A huge well done boys, we are so proud of you. Keep up the good work – I’m hoping that I can be one of your customers next week!

(They have said they plan to continue on their venture throughout the summer!)

Year 3 & 4: Assembly

This morning the children took part in an assembly with Pastor David out on the school field.

They learnt about moving on and it being the end of the school year. They particularly enjoyed watching Pastor David eating ‘dog food!’

News: End of Year Reports

Dear Parents,

The children will be bringing home their end of year reports today and we hope that you enjoy reading about the progress they have made over the year. We pride ourselves on our reports celebrating achievement and identifying next steps for learning.

Usually, our reports are accompanied by a Parent Questionnaire, however, this year, to save costs on paper, an online one will be sent via MCAS next week.

Year 1 & 2: Ruby

Over the last 2 weeks we have been working hard in our maths lessons looking at data and how we can collect and record information. The children really enjoyed making their own bar charts on jit5.

In theme we have been looking at how important it is to recycle correctly and look after our planet. We then used our recycling to make robots, cars and other imaginative designs.

Year 5: Darland

Yesterday, Year 5 spent the day at Darland. The children experienced a Team building lesson, a Well-being lesson, a History lesson and a Science lesson. They all enjoyed running around on the yard and making friends with children from other schools in our cluster.

Years 5 & 6: Rounders Tournament

Heddiw, we held a very friendly tournament in school between the three Years 5 and 6 classes. Each class was split into 2 teams, and each team played each other once. There were lots of smiles, words of motivation and a determination to succeed amongst each team. We had a lovely morning on the school field.

Years 3 & 4: Celyn

Dear Parents/Carers,

We are delighted to share some exciting news! Your child has been lucky enough to have their writing selected for publication in Ridiculous Writers: Wild Words from Young Writers UK. This is a fantastic achievement, and we are incredibly proud of them.

Today, your child will be bringing home a letter requesting parental permission for their mini saga to be included in the published book. Also enclosed are:

A bookmark/stickers
A copy of your child’s mini saga

You will have the opportunity to review your child’s work and, if necessary, make changes online before publication.

There are several ways to provide your permission:

Complete the permission process online using the link and code provided in the letter.
Return the permission slip included with the letter by post.
Make any amendments and give permission through the online portal.

Please note that the deadline for providing permission is 23rd August.
