News: Euro 2020 Final

Dear Parents,
If your child is a football fan and likely to be staying up late on Sunday night to watch the match, then let them stay in a bed a bit longer on Monday morning and get them to school by 10:30am. We will be open as usual on Monday morning with Breakfast Club starting at 7.30am and classes opening at 8.45am, but children arriving up to 10.30am won’t be marked as late and they won’t miss any lessons. Those arriving on time will have alternative activities to complete in class building on social skills, well-being and independent learning.
We’d rather have the children here and well rested, ready to learn rather than absent all day or tired and unable to concentrate.
It’s 55 years since a team from the UK reached a major football final so let the children watch, talk about the importance of the National Anthem, talk about pride and resilience and possibly disappointment. This is a learning opportunity and may well become a joyous historical moment for our neighbours over the border.
Once again, school will open as normal on Monday morning, but if the children have stayed up late to watch the football and can have an extra hour or so in bed – let them!
Kind Regards,
Mrs Billington
