We love that the sun is shining this week, welcoming the children back to school for the last half term of this year! As the weather is so lovely at the moment, please make sure that the children have sun cream on in the mornings before they come to school and that they bring a hat/cap.
Parents can send their own sun cream into school and we will supervise the children to apply this after lunch. All bottles must be clearly labelled with your child’s name. Please note that staff cannot rub this onto the children’s skin – they will have to do this independently.
This year, we will also have stocks of spray sun cream in every class, which staff will carefully spray onto the children and watch as they rub it in. I shall update parents on the brand of sun cream tomorrow – it is likely to be Nivea or Ambre Solaire. Children will be encouraged to stay in the shade as much as possible.
If you do NOT want your child to use the sun cream we have at school, please let us know either by telephoning school (01978 859100) or by emailing your child’s class teacher as soon as possible.
We will of course ensure that the children are drinking plenty of water throughout the day. In Key Stage 2 please make sure your child has a water bottle in school (children in Foundation Phase have their own labelled cups to use.)
As always should you have any comments or questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at school.
