Please see the attached letter below from the Local Authority regarding the opening of Primary Schools in January 2021.
All parents/carers should note the following:
Monday 4th January 2021is a Training Day as planned.
Tuesday 5th January and Wednesday 6th January 2021– online learning activities will be provided for all children. There will be limited childcare available in our Holiday Club for Critical Workers only and this will be charged at the usual rate of £25 per day. We must limit numbers in our Holiday Club and therefore, you are asked to contact Elaine Owen by 5pm today or on Monday 4th January to book a place. Strict guidelines will be followed when allocating places and we would urge parents to only use the club as a last resort.
Thursday 7th and Friday 8th January– online learning activities will be provided for all children. We will have limited places available in school for Critical Workers who cannot make alternative arrangements and for some vulnerable learners who will be contacted directly on Monday 4th January. Holiday Club will be closed. Strict guidelines will be followed when allocating places and parents should also note that once in school, children will be kept in their usual class bubbles. You should only request a place for your child as a last resort. Places must be booked. Please contact school by 4.30pm today or on Monday 4th January 2021.
Flying Start, Little Treasures, Little Gems will be closed Monday 4th, Tuesday 5th and Wednesday 6th January. Depending on staffing levels we may be able to open these provisions on Thursday 7th and Friday 8th – I will keep parents informed as soon as I know.
I am hoping that all children will be back in school by Monday 11th January, however, further announcements will be made during the first week back as staffing levels are determined and Welsh Government announcements are made. I wish I had a crystal ball to provide parents with the information sooner.
I realise that this will be a great inconvenience to many parents, however, as cases of Coronavirus increase locally the safety of all children, staff, parents and the wider community is our priority. I would like to thank you all in advance for your patience and understanding during these extremely challenging times.
I will be at school until 4.30pm today should any parents need to contact me to discuss arrangements. Following this I can be contacted at school from Monday 4th January 2021. Please do not email or message individual teachers for information.
In the meantime, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your support this term and for welcoming me to the Park C.P. family. Despite the pandemic, we have had a successful start to the academic year. On behalf of all the staff here, please accept the sincerest of thanks for all the presents, cards and kind words extended this week – they are truly appreciated. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Let’s hope 2021 brings much calmer and happier times. Please stay safe over the Christmas holidays and I look forward to welcoming everyone back in January.
