Dear Parents and Carers,
We have noticed that some children in Years 5 & 6 are bringing large packs of crisps, chocolates and sweets into school to eat after lunch. While we understand these foods can be enjoyed as an occasional treat, we would like to discourage children from bringing them into school.
School meal portions are carefully calculated to ensure children receive the right balance of nutrition to support their growth, health and learning throughout the day. In addition, the school meals service also offer extra portions of salad along with bread/butter. Adding crisps or sweets after lunch not only undermines this balance but can also affect concentration and energy levels in the afternoon.
At Park CP we actively promote healthy lifestyles, and we kindly ask for your support in ensuring that children bring only fruit or a healthy snack if they need something extra after lunch. Together, we can continue to encourage positive habits that benefit both their health and their learning.
Thank you for your support in this matter.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs Billington
