Forest School

To promote outdoor learning, Forest School sessions are part of the curriculum here at Park CP for all children in Blwyddyn 1 to 6.

Mrs Bentley, our Forest School Leader, takes groups of children out to one of our fantastic Forest School areas (we’re lucky enough to have two!!) where they complete activities such as den building, fire safety, tool work and bush craft. Outdoor learning offers numerous benefits, such as improved well-being, increased motivation and enjoyment of school life, team-building skills, communication, and many more.

All children from years 1 to 6 have Forest School sessions on a fortnightly basis and we provide the waterproofs! Our uniform is designed to be suitable for Forest School, however, we also ask that during winter months parents send in wellies, old trainers or spare footwear on Forest School days. Warm coats, hats and gloves are also recommended.

If you have items such as bulbs, wood, branches etc. that you think may benefit our Forest School please do get in touch.

Mrs Bentley updates our website regularly, sharing what the children have been getting up to – subscribe to our Forest School Page for the latest news.
