News: Sponsored Walk

Annwyl Pawb,
We’re excited to share some lovely news about the continued development of our Forest School provision at Park CP.
Mrs Bentley, our Forest School Leader, has been working hard to secure additional resources to further improve our outdoor learning environment. These exciting additions include raised planting beds and a new pond area, providing even more opportunities for our children to explore nature, develop practical skills and enjoy meaningful learning outdoors.
🌿 Making Our New Pond Area Safe
Before the pond can be fully enjoyed by the children, we need to ensure that it is appropriately secured. We are therefore raising funds to purchase secure fencing and a suitable pond cover, helping us to create a safe and accessible outdoor learning space.
Mrs Bentley is certainly leading by example and will be undertaking an amazing 20-mile sponsored hike to raise funds for the project on Saturday 19th September 2026. Mrs Bentley has a GoFundMe page https://gofund.me/b77a12a4d if anyone would like to donate.
To support her efforts, the children will also be taking part in a whole-school sponsored walk on Friday 18th September.
The walks will be adapted to suit the different ages of our children:
  • Years 4–6 will walk through Alyn Waters and across to the Gwersyllt side.
  • Years 2–3 will complete a walk around the Llay side of Alyn Waters.
  • Early Years and Year 1 will complete a one-mile walk around the school grounds.
We would love every child to get involved and help us raise as much as possible. Every contribution, however big or small, will make a difference.
Our first priority will be to raise enough money to complete the Forest School pond project safely. Any additional money raised will go into school funds, which are used throughout the year to provide resources, activities and opportunities that help us give all of our children the very best possible learning experiences.
We know how wonderfully supportive our Park CP families are, and we’re really looking forward to seeing how far we can go with this challenge!
Thank you, as always, for your continued support — and a particularly big thank you to Mrs Bentley for taking on her 20-mile challenge for our children! 🌳💚
Kind regards,
Mrs Billington
