Fidget Tools

Annwyl Pawb,
We would like to share a little more about how we are using fidget tools in our school and how we can work together to support the children.
Fidget tools can be a really helpful support for some children, helping them to regulate their sensory needs, maintain focus and feel ready to learn. They are most effective when used as a tool rather than a toy, so we ask that fidgets are small enough to fit comfortably in one hand, used quietly and appropriately, and do not distract the child or those around them. Children will be encouraged to develop an understanding of what helps them to regulate and to use their fidget independently and responsibly. If a fidget becomes a distraction or is not being used appropriately, it may need to be removed. We really value working together with families to support children in developing these skills, and through consistency, mutual respect and open communication, we can help every child become more confident and independent in managing their own regulation and wellbeing.
