News: Advent Kindness Challenge

A huge thanks to Pastor David who came into school this morning to share an Advent assembly with the children. Our Year 6 volunteers got dressed up as characters from the nativity and candles were lit as we shared the messages of hope, peace, joy and love with everyone.
This year, we’re challenging the children to complete our 24 Days of Kindness Challenge
Everyday on the run up to Christmas, the children have been asked to something kind (a list is attached to give them ideas!) This is not a challenge that has a physical reward or treat at the end of it; instead, the reward will be the feelings of joy and love they feel when carrying out acts of kindness.
Pastor David shared the message that kindness:
  • Makes other people feel good
  • Makes you feel good
And when you feel good your brain releases happy chemicals that bring hope, peace, joy and love into the world.
We want the children to feel good about their actions and learn that simple acts can bring about feelings of joy.
The acts of kindness can happen at school, at home or when out and about and we hope that parents will help us to encourage and remind the children of these important messages during the festivities.
One small act of kindness can change someone’s whole day & 24 days of kindness can change a whole school.
