Annwyl Pawb,
As we come to the end of another school year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support. We know how much you value your child’s education, and we are proud of the progress many of our pupils have made this year.
Good attendance is absolutely essential to ensure children do not miss valuable learning time and the opportunities that come from being fully involved in school life. Unfortunately, this year, we have seen a number of pupils with attendance levels below our expectation of 95%, which has a direct impact on their learning and development.
As a school, we monitor attendance closely and follow up on any patterns of concern. We work hard to support families where difficulties arise, but we do need your continued commitment to ensuring that your child is in school every day, on time, unless they are genuinely unwell.
From September, parents and carers will receive a letter when a child has missed 10 or more sessions (equivalent to 5 full school days). This is part of our ongoing commitment to improving attendance and ensuring that any issues are identified and addressed as early as possible. Letters will be issued regardless of the reason – i.e. even if a holiday has been authorised or parents have informed us of an illness, we still have a statutory obligation to let you know if your child’s attendance is below expectation.
We kindly ask that you support us by:
-
Booking holidays and routine appointments outside of term time wherever possible
-
Ensuring your child arrives at school on time each day
your child’s attendance
We all want the very best for your child, and regular school attendance is a fundamental part of helping them reach their full potential.
Thank you for your continued understanding and support.
Diolch,
Mrs Billington
