Annwyl Pawb,
This year the Common Transfer Day (when children visit their new schools or classes) for Wrexham falls on Thursday 26th June 2025.
However, as the majority of our Year 6 children will be transferring to Castell Alun and their Common Transfer Day falls on Friday 27th June, it becomes quite challenging here for children to change classes.
Therefore, we will be using both Thursday 26th and Friday 27th June 2025 as our Common Transfer Days, with different activities happening on both days to prepare the children for September.
Thursday 26th June
-
Children transferring to St Christopher’s, Ysgol Bryn Alyn and Darland High School will visit their new schools.
-
Here, teachers will visit the children in their current classes and spend time through the day getting to know the children.
-
Letters will be sent home to parents to share details about your child’s new class and teacher.
Friday 27th June
-
Year 6 children transferring to Ysgol Castell Alun will visit their new school.
-
Here, children will move into their new classes for the day, meeting teachers and TAs and experiencing the changes in preparation for September.
-
Those children who visited St Christopher’s, Ysgol Bryn Alyn and Darland will remain in their current classes and be given special roles throughout the day – being ambassadors.
-
Current Nursery children will be invited to spend the whole day at school in our Reception class. This will include a free school meal being provided by the canteen staff.
-
New Nursery for September will be invited to visit (times will be confirmed during the Welcome Meeting).
How Parents Can Help?
For some children, the change of class/teacher etc. can cause them to worry. Please see the attached sheet which has some useful information to help you to support your child.
