I have been informed this morning that the public footpath running alongside the school will be closed for approximately 10 days while work is undertaken to remove the current wall and replace it with a handrail.
Please note that this work is not taking place on school grounds and is outside of the school’s control. However, the closure may affect some families travelling to and from school, as alternative routes may take a little longer.
The closure will particularly affect our Year 5 and Year 6 children who have permission to walk home independently and usually use this footpath. Staff have spoken to the children this morning and shared an alternative route with them.
We appreciate, however, that some parents may prefer to collect their child from school while the footpath is closed. If you would like to do this, please contact your child’s class teacher so that we are aware of the temporary change to their usual arrangements.
Please allow a little extra time when travelling to and from school over the next 10 days.
