Annwyl Pawb,
We have been made aware that there are cases of headlice across the school. Whilst this is a common occurrence in all schools, we would like to take this opportunity to remind parents/carers to be vigilant and to check their child’s hair regularly.
Headlice are not a sign of poor hygiene and can affect anyone. Regular checks and prompt treatment, if necessary, can help prevent the spread.
If we do notice children in school with live Head Lice, we will make every attempt to contact parents and would ask that you work with us to start the treatment as soon as possible. Please note that staff do NOT intentionally check children’s hair and always handle cases in a sensitive manner. There is no need to keep your child off school once treatment has started.
Useful guidance on how to treat headlice is available from your pharmacist or on the NHS website: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/head-lice-and-nits
Thank you for your support and cooperation in helping us to keep these critters away!
Diolch,
Mrs Billington
