Annwyl Pawb,
Just a reminder:
🌟 Exciting Opportunity – Become a Parent Governor at Park CP School 🌟
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed parent to join our Governing Body as a Parent Governor.
This is an exciting opportunity to:
-
Make a real difference to the education and life of all children at Park CP School.
-
Represent the views of parents and help shape the strategic direction of the school.
-
Work alongside staff and fellow governors to ensure the school continues to improve and provide the best possible opportunities for every child.
What does a Parent Governor do?
Parent Governors are full members of the Governing Body with the same rights and responsibilities as other governors. They bring a parental perspective to discussions and decisions but do not represent individual parents. Governors work collectively to:
-
Support and challenge school leadership.
-
Oversee the school’s vision, values, and priorities.
-
Monitor educational performance and wellbeing.
-
Ensure resources are used effectively.
Who can apply?
Any parent, carer, or person with parental responsibility for a child currently at Park CP School is eligible. No special qualifications are needed – just enthusiasm, commitment, and a willingness to learn. Full training and support will be provided. If you’d like further information, please speak to one of our existing Governors, listed on the website.
What’s in it for you?
-
Develop new skills in leadership, teamwork, and strategic thinking.
-
Gain a deeper understanding of how schools are run.
-
Make a positive impact on your child’s education and the wider school community.
Interested? Here’s how to apply
Parents and carers may nominate themselves or another eligible parent/carer. If you are nominating someone else, please make sure that you have their permission before submitting their name.
Nominations should be emailed to [email protected] and should include:
-
the name of the person being nominated;
-
the name of their child and class;
-
a short personal statement about themselves and why they would like to become a Parent Governor.
Please be aware that the personal statement will be shared with parents and carers as part of the ballot information should an election be required.
The deadline for nominations is 12 noon on Friday 9th October 2026.
If we receive more nominations than the two vacancies available, a Parent Governor election will be held the following week, with parents and carers having the opportunity to vote for their preferred candidates.
Being a governor is a valuable opportunity to contribute to the continued development of our school and to represent a parent perspective as part of our Governing Body.
We would be delighted to receive nominations and encourage anyone who feels they could make a positive contribution to consider putting themselves forward.
Diolch am your continued support.
Kind Regards,
Mrs Billington
Pennaeth
