News: Safe Driving Around School

Road Safety Around School
Dear Parents/Carers,
I am writing to kindly remind all parents and carers of the importance of driving carefully and responsibly when dropping off and collecting children from school. The safety of our pupils, staff, and the wider community is our top priority, and we need your cooperation to ensure that the school environment remains a safe place for everyone.
Please take note of the following guidelines:
  1. Adhere to Speed Limits: Always drive slowly and within the designated speed limit (20mph) around the school area.
  2. Park Responsibly: Use designated parking spaces and avoid stopping on yellow lines or on the turnabout by the doctors
  3. Be Vigilant: Watch for pedestrians and children – look and look again before your manoeuvre
  4. Avoid Double Parking: Double parking can obstruct traffic flow and reduce visibility for other drivers and pedestrians.
  5. Be Patient and Considerate: Allow extra time during busy periods and show consideration for other drivers and pedestrians.
  6. Safety Seats: Know the law and always use the correct safety seats when travelling with children
By working together, we can ensure the safety and well-being of our children and community. We kindly ask that you discuss road safety with your child to reinforce the importance of safe practices when crossing roads or moving around vehicles.
Thank you for your continued support in making our school a safer place. If you have any concerns or suggestions regarding road safety, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Yours sincerely,
Mrs. Billington
Headteacher
