Yesterday groups of children from Years 4,5 & 6 represented school in the annual Cluster Spelling Competition, hosted by All Saints’ school, Gresford.
The children did brilliantly, tackling challenging words such as pterodactyl, pseudonym and manoeuvring (and yes, I spell checked those!!) They all gave 100% effort, behaved impeccably and showed true sportsmanship – congratulating other schools on their successes and thanking the host school without being prompted! They were a real credit to us and of course their parents.
We didn’t leave empty handed – we won the Year 6 trophy!! Amazing news – llongyfarchiadau Kiera!
Diolch yn fawr iawn i Mrs Poole, Mrs Martin a Mrs Bowles am transporting the children and supporting them throughout the afternoon.
Thanks also to those parents/carers/families who’ve been helping the children learn the spellings over the last few weeks and of course thanks to the staff at All Saints’ for organising such a fabulous event.
Diolch,
Mrs Billington
