News: Sports Days

Annwyl Pawb,
Just a quick update regarding next week’s planned Sports Days.
Whilst I like to think I have many skills, controlling the weather unfortunately is not one of them! As always, Sports Days are very much weather dependent.
If the forecast is showing significant rain, I will make the decision to postpone the event the day before, using information provided by the Met Office. This is to help provide families with as much notice as possible.
I completely appreciate that many parents and carers arrange time off work to attend and that any changes can be disappointing. However, if the field is wet and slippery, we have to prioritise the health and safety of all children, staff and spectators.
In previous years, I have waited until the morning of the event to make a final decision. However, I understand that the uncertainty this creates can also be frustrating, so I hope that providing earlier notice will be more helpful for everyone.
Finally, if I postpone an event due to a poor forecast and we then end up with glorious sunshine… please direct any complaints to the Met Office 🙂
Thank you, as always, for your understanding and support.
Kind regards,
Mrs Billington
(Keeping fingers crossed for dry, warm, but not too warm weather, with a gentle breeze!!!)
