Today Dosbarth Celyn continued their creative schools project. We used lots of imagination through drawing, writing, making, and creating! The children began by thinking about food at school, then went on a mini journey around Llay, discovering all the places food comes from — from local shops and supermarkets to farms, parks, churches, and even community kitchens.
They added their ideas to our growing Llay Food Map, helping to show just how much food is part of our community.
The children also took on three fun challenges:
- 🌱 Grow your own! Create fruits, vegetables, or even bees for a community garden
- 🍽️ Build a meal! Draw or cut out foods to make your favourite meal and share why you love it
- 🏠 Food places! Design or draw new places where people might eat that weren’t already on our map
There was plenty of imagination buzzing in the room! The children explored ideas, made connections, and came up with all sorts of wonderful creations to show their understanding of food and where it comes from.
