We didn’t let the weather dampen our spirits! This morning, Dosbarth Celyn visited Rackery Farm Shop as part of our exciting theme, Food of the World – Spice Up Your Life.
During the visit, we explored important questions around food production—considering whether it supports or harms the environment, and comparing the benefits of buying locally produced food with mass-produced items sourced from further afield.
The children were treated to a wonderful range of foods to sample, including pork pies, sausage rolls, crackers, cheeses, bara brith, Welsh cakes, granola, and even a chocolate ice cream to finish. A special mention goes to The Wrexham Honey Company — their wildflower honey was a particular favourite!
Despite the weather, the children had a fantastic day and were a real credit to the school.
A huge thank you to Rackery Farm and Larissa for hosting us. The food was absolutely delicious, and we are especially grateful for the warm welcome and for accommodating us inside the café despite it being so busy.
