Anti-Racism Day – Friday 3rd July
Following a discussion with a wonderful group of children from Years 5 and 6 last week, we are delighted to be holding an Anti-Racism Day at Park CP School on Friday 3rd July.
To help us show racism the red card, children are invited to wear something red – this could be a simple hairclip or a full football kit – it’s up to you! As some of the planned sessions will include sporting activities, please ensure your child is dressed sensibly and is able to take part comfortably.
Throughout the day, children will take part in a range of age-appropriate activities designed to celebrate diversity, promote kindness and respect, and help them to understand the importance of challenging prejudice and discrimination.
Teaching children about anti-racism is an important part of our curriculum and our commitment to developing caring, respectful and responsible citizens. By learning about different cultures, identities and experiences, children develop empathy, learn to value diversity and gain the confidence to stand up against racism and unfair treatment wherever they encounter it.
We are looking forward to what promises to be a fun, engaging and meaningful day for everyone.
