The Early Years Department is a vibrant and nurturing environment where our youngest learners begin their educational journey. Led by Miss Ivison, and supported by a team of five enthusiastic and caring Teaching Assistants, the department provides a safe, welcoming space where every child is encouraged to grow, explore, and thrive.
Through a rich blend of play-based learning and structured activities, children in Nursery and Reception develop key early skills in communication, literacy, numeracy, and social interaction. The team works closely with each child to ensure they feel confident, valued, and excited to learn.
Creativity, curiosity, and kindness are at the heart of everything we do. With a focus on individual development and emotional well-being, the Early Years team builds strong foundations that prepare children not only for the next stage of school but for a lifelong love of learning.

Our Early Years Philosophies:
Children learn best when they’re happy and playing! We believe that early childhood is a critical period that profoundly influences a person’s entire life. We are dedicated to implementing developmentally appropriate practices that promote the holistic development of the whole child, including cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth throughout your child’s early years.

When children have the best start to their school life the world truly is their oyster! By learning through play, with carefully planned out areas of continuous provision and well trained staff, we can ensure:
Enhanced Lifelong Learning: Children develop a love for learning that continues throughout their lives, fostering ongoing curiosity, intellectual growth, and academic success.
Strong Social and emotional Skills: Children build effective communication and collaboration skills while learning to understand and manage their emotions. This leads to lifelong positive interactions, successful relationships, and the ability to navigate challenges with confidence.
Healthy Habits: Encouraging physical development along with healthy eating and sleeping routines helps children establish lifelong habits that support overall well-being and growth .
