A little note about our Christmas creativity 🎄
This year in Early Years, we are placing a strong focus on developing the children’s independence, creativity, and decision-making skills. Rather than giving the children a set template to follow for specific Christmas cards or decorations, we have provided them with a wide range of resources, ideas and inspiration, and the freedom to decide for themselves what they would like to create.
As a result, some of the children chose to make items linked to Christmas, while others followed their own ideas and interests — which is just as valuable and important. Each creation reflects your child’s thinking, imagination, and choices at that moment.
During our Christmas Celebration last Tuesday, there were also lots of opportunities for you to join in with Christmas crafts alongside your child (decorating bags, cards, decorations, and festive food making).
Any items made during this time have been sent home when they were made (if your child chose to bring them).
