News: Country Show Event

There’s a wonderful buzz around school this afternoon, as classes put the final touches on their entries for tomorrow’s Country Show! Our competitions include:

  • Heaviest potato
  • Longest carrot
  • A Scarecrow
  • An action photo
  • A decorated cake
  • A poem
  • Three decorated biscuits
  • A miniature garden
  • One decorated welly
  • A vine of cherry tomatoes
  • Tallest sunflower

We have a full day of activities planned including animals, bouncy castles, dog displays, fire engines, face painting, ice-creams and lots more. There’s no charge for the event – we have received generous donations from Llay Community Council, New Directions Supply Agency, Excell Supply Agency, Eco Readymix and D&J Thomas Butchers to make the event possible. A huge thanks to them all.
Parents are welcome to come into school when collecting children (at the usual times) to see all the entries on the display. The winners will be announced on Friday (7th July) when rosettes will be presented to classes.
Let’s hope for dry weather – keep those fingers crossed!
(School uniform please – shorts or trousers are recommended especially for the bouncy castles.)
Diolch,
Mrs Billington Pennaeth
