Dress Up Days
Head Boy and Head Girl recently visited with me and asked whether we could have a Super Hero day as part of our theme this term. The answer was of course YES!!!
Friday 18th February 2022 will therefore be Super Hero Super Learning Day!!
Children can come to school dressed as either a traditional super hero or one that they’ve created themselves. Please don’t buy anything special – homemade costumes are encouraged! Any hero costume is welcomed – they can choose the fictional characters with special powers or community heroes who have been brilliant during the pandemic – we welcome all heroes here at Park CP.
Throughout the day, the children will be using and developing their Problem Solving Skills.
Shortly after deciding on the day, we received a package from Comic Relief and by complete coincidence this year their fundraising is entitled “Calling All Super Heroes” So, save the costumes made for the 18th Feb – they’re likely to be needed again on 18th March when we get involved with Comic Relief – more details to follow!

Years 5 & 6 Out of School Visit

Back in November (when CoVid cases were low) we booked a trip to Danger Point, Talacre for Years 5 & 6. As the country is set to move to alert level zero next week, we are hopeful that the trip can still go ahead, despite current mitigations remaining in place in schools. Letters will be sent home this week with the children, sharing the full details and parents are asked to return the consent forms along with a contribution of £2 to school as soon as possible. Should the trip be cancelled for any reason, contributions will be returned. School is part funding the trip and covering the cost of transport.
Miss Ivison’s class, Mrs Rogers’ Year 6 children and Miss Harrison’s Year 6 children will visit on Wednesday 16th February.
Mrs Whalley’s class, Mrs Rogers’ Year 5 children and Miss Harrison’s Year 5 children will visit on Thursday 17th February.

Other visits out for different year groups are being organised – we can’t wait to get out and about again to give the children lots of enjoyable and educational experiences.

After School Clubs

Following the half term break, we’re hoping to start some school run free extra-curricular clubs for children in Years 1 to 6. These will run until 3.45pm (Years 1 and 2) and until 4pm (Key Stage 2). A variety of clubs will be offered, such as football, netball, craft, computing etc. A timetable and further details will be shared soon on the website.
All dates have been uploaded to our school calendar, which parents can subscribe to – see the link on the calendar page.
Many thanks,
Mrs Billington
