Blywddyn Newydd Dda! ( Even though it seems like a lifetime ago now.)
This term in Dyfrdwy class our theme is ‘Cynefin’ and we’re asking and exploring the question: “Who do we belong to?” We’ll be learning about the history of Llay and Wales, focusing on mining; exploring the habitats which are home to wildlife here in Wales before comparing them to other habitats; celebrating festivals important to pupils in our class, such as Ramadan; how to look after ourselves in terms of personal hygiene and how we belong to Wrexham and feeling proud of our Welsh heritage.
In Maths we’ll be learning how to add and subtract numbers using re-grouping. Then exploring money; recognising coins, finding totals and calculating change. Our aim in Language this term is to write an explanation text, using features such as adverbs of time and conjunctions such as; because, therefore, so etc.
The Welsh phrases we’ll be using this term are:
Bore da – good morning
Prynhawn da – good afternoon
Sut wyt ti? – how are you?
Ga i… – may I have a….
Enw -name
Oed – age
Lliw gwallt- hair colour
Teulu- family
Ffaith- fact
